RDAD Foundation
When I set out to write Runnin’ Down a Dream, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a book of stories and principles. Principle VI — Always Give Back — calls for action, not just words. The Runnin’ Down a Dream Foundation (RDAD Foundation) is how I intend to live that principle.
The RDAD Foundation’s purpose is simple: to help people who are inspired by this book chase their own Dream Jobs — especially those for whom financial challenges stand in the way. Too often, the only thing separating ambition from progress is a small amount of help at the right moment.
Here’s how it will work:
- Grants: Each year, the RDAD Foundation will award grants to winners. The dollar amount of grants and the number of winners will be determined annually.
- Milestones: If a recipient demonstrates meaningful progress after a set period of time, they will be eligible for a second grant. The dollar amount of the second grant will be determined annually.
- Advice & Support: Alongside funding, the RDAD Foundation aims to provide guidance and recommendations to help recipients move forward.
- Community: Past recipients will be encouraged to support new ones by contributing to the RDAD Foundation financially and/or providing guidance and recommendations thereby building a community of dream-chasers who learn from and help each other.
- Evergreen Vision: In the long run, those who succeed may one day give back to the RDAD Foundation, keeping the cycle alive for future dreamers.
The RDAD Foundation will launch with an initial donation from me. Also, I will include an amount that matches all the proceeds I personally receive from this book.
The truth is, chasing your dream is hard enough. It shouldn’t be limited to those with financial means. The RDAD Foundation exists to make sure that anyone with the drive and courage to run down their dream has a fair shot at starting the chase.
